Colourful time of year in Devon

It is one of the most beautiful times of year here in Devon when every hedgerow, cliff face and patch of land is blooming with all sorts of wild flowers. We have had one of the longest bluebell seasons I can remember, still going strong now in lots of places. Valerian is out everywhere in a variety of colours, and the california poppies are out in force on our garden at Sandays.

There are too many plants to mention on the Warren but I did enjoy a california tree lupin in full bloom the other day (a rare escapee from nature reserve axe) and also this lovely patch by the woods filled with Southern Marsh Orchids and Flag Iris.
