Enjoyed a deer rut safari around the deer park at Powderham Castle this afternoon. Lovely sunny day, still warm enough to sit outside for the cream tea that followed, not bad for 2nd October! Fascinating watching the beautiful fallow deer, the bucks gathering greenery in their antlers and giving out their deep calls.
Glad that Sandays is so close to the Powderham estate, lots going on there, we visit for lots of reasons not least for the food hall. Note also food festival this Saturday 4th October.
