Teignmouth

Teignmouth is a pretty, seaside town with a pier just 10 minutes or so from Sandays by car, train or bus. The new Pavilions on the sea front is a hub of activity and includes a tourist information point. A long beach and promenade, a swimming lido, childrens’ play park and crazy golf and many events during the year make Teignmouth a popular place. The folk festival in June is one of our favourites, but there are lots of others.

Take a stroll through Eastcliff Park (close to Eastcliff car park) to enjoy the cliff meadows and views and the beautiful sub-tropical valley garden known as “The Dell”.

Teignmouth lies at the mouth of the Teign Estuary. A road bridge will take you across to Shaldon, and perhaps a visit to the Shaldon Wildlife Trust? A more delightful way to cross to Shaldon is to take the foot ferry which will land you on the beach just yards from good places to eat & drink.

Other pleasure boat trips are possible from Teignmouth via Riviera Cruises.
