Yesterday was the carnival firework evening here at Dawlish Warren and what a lovely evening it turned to be.
A calm, warm evening during which people gradually moved from the beach to the green, leaving behind sand castle relics and allowing lots of Sandpipers, Plovers and Dunlins to feed on the beach as the tide receeded.
It was lovely to be able to enjoy the fading light and sunset, the music and funfair, and the anticipation of the fireworks to come. Of course plenty of refreshments kept everyone going!
After the fireworks another band took to the stage whilst the moon put on its own show and families with younger children started to drift away.
