This afternoon was really rather pleasant: sun shining, lots of people strolling around and even a couple in the sea. Not bad for November 3rd. The sea wall between here and the Rockstone footbridge on the way to Dawlish tells a different story though, testament to the power of the sea with storm Ciaran behind it just yesterday. These photos will give you an idea of what it looks like now.
The debris of sea life (the cockles seem to have fared particularly badly) mixed with bits of bushes and goodness knows what else is sad to see. The beach looks like a digger has been along, carefully moving the sand over to the sea wall, and in the environs of Red Rock there is only heaps of shingle.
