There are lots of lovely Christmassy things happening around the area at the moment, but the most dramatic must be the Train of Lights.
The steam train, decked out with lights inside & out, runs from Paignton to Kingswear and back. Today we were at Goodrington Sands where we could hear the shriek of the whistle as the steam train left Paignton station, and could see the plume of steam before the train itself came into view. Watching a steam train close up is always amazing; the sounds and smell as the train powers by is breath-taking. Add to that thousands of lights approaching through a dark evening and it is almost other-worldly!
