Victorian Evening in Newton Abbot on December 2nd

There are so many Christmas fairs and events on within easy reach of Sandays around this time that it is impossible to list them all! Visited Newton Abbot this evening for their Victorian evening and there was a lovely atmosphere. Lots of shops open including Austins and a big variety of stalls. Light rain did not deter large numbers of people and all the lights shining on wet pavements looked rather beautiful. Very much a family event with plenty to buy at pocket money prices in the Market Square and various entertainment. I loved the sound of the bells from St.Leonard’s tower, and also the barrel organ.
Must also mention “Vintage Ladies” on Queen Street: not only is this a gorgeous shop but they were handing out mince pies and glasses of wine too!
