Dawlish is known for its black swans and red cliffs. It is a very pretty town with a river (Dawlish Water) running right through the centre. Plenty of interesting shops to browse and places to stop for something good to eat & drink.
The Museum is also very interesting if you have an hour or two to spare (closed during the winter) and don’t forget to check out the latest shows at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
You can walk along the sea wall from Dawlish Warren to Dawlish, or take the bus or the train. There is a lovely sandy beach all the way and if you keep walking past the town you will come eventually to the delightful Coryton Cove.
The town of Dawlish is one stop on the train from Dawlish Warren or a walk of approximately half an hour along the sea wall. Read more about the walk from Dawlish Warren to Dawlish.
There is a tourist information centre located on The Lawn.
