The date of Widecombe Fair is always the second Tuesday in September and dates back over 200 years. Thousands of people are attracted to the tiny Dartmoor village of Widecombe but the crowds are managed well and there is something for everyone. Widecombe is aproximately 40-45 mins drive from Sandays.

Travelling to Widecombe

We would usually approach through Bovey Tracey and Haytor and traffic coming from this direction is directed into a “park & ride” system so be prepared to allow time for this and to be some distance from your car.

Events and Attractions

The whole village is involved in the Fair and there is a wonderful mix of very traditional displays and shows alongside new ideas. Plenty of folk music & dancing, good food, stalls etc.
